If you engage in some activities that make you sweat, then change them more often. If you take participate in sports or exercise, take a bath after it if possible. You should also clean your groin with warm water to make sure the bacteria doesn’t spread.

If you are quite prone to fungal infections, you should keep yourself sweat free to get rid of jock itch. If you sweat a lot, the perspiration gets accumulated in the folds and leads in the creation of moist areas that lead to jock itch and other fungal growth.
However, when you shower, you get yourself clean, and free from dirt, bacteria, and sweat. You can also use anti-fungal soap to keep your groin area moisture free.
3. Wear Cotton Undergarments
Avoid all sorts of tight fitting pants, shorts, and undergarments. Choose the loose fitting ones to help limit the moisture buildup and reduction in friction. Also, say no to synthetic clothes, they encourage sweat and several other skin irritation and infections. Make sure that you bag cotton clothes. Cotton undergarments maintain the air flow, prevent moisture and absorb sweat.
4. Take Salt Bath Regularly
If jock itch is recurring to you, consider taking salt bath thrice a week. What you have to do is fill up the tub with hot water mixed with two cups of salt.

Salt speeds up the healing process of blisters and also acts as an anti-bacterial agent. Although, it can also make your skin dry. So, you have to make sure that you keep your skin well moisturized. Also, make sure that the water isn’t too hot.

Sometimes jock itch occurs due to other fungal infections such as toe nail fungus, yeast infection, and even athlete’s foot. If these infections are left un-treated, they often lead to jock itch.
Hence, it is necessary to first treat those infections. Spend some time in researching, and you will find a lot of home remedies such as using neem, tea tree oil, yogurt, baking soda, etc. These are meant to be used on the affected area. They prevent the infection before they lead to jock itch.
6. You should also consider using skin protectants like hemorrhoid cream or petroleum jelly. After consulting it with your doctor, you can also consider using an antifungal or drying powder.
7. After you take a shower, make sure that your body is completely dried to prevent any moisture that might lead to fungal growth in the groin. Areas such as armpits, crotch, inner thighs are very prone to excessive moisture. You should treat these particular areas with proper care to avoid spreading of fungal infection. Wipe your body after shower and make sure that the groin area dries up before you put up your clothes.
